Electrical Testing
Quality Control – One of the last process steps is the electrical testing of the printed circuit boards based on the net list. The electrical testing ensures that the printed circuit boards are functioning. The test programmes use CAD data.
When large quantities are tested, adaptors are employed. For this test, needle adaptors are constructed individually. The advantage of this test system is the high density per cm² as well as the speed. Even series can be tested quickly with this system. A disadvantage is the product-specific fabrication of the needle adaptors.
ATM-LM A5 Neo Flying Probe System
For lower quantities, Flying Probe Systems are employed. No adaptor is needed, the testing points are optically registered and the probes make contact with the required nodes. An advantage is that changes can be made easily for a new product. Especially lower quantities can be tested cost-effectively with these systems. A disadvantage is that the test cycle takes longer when compared to other forms of automated test equipment.
For large quantities, Hotoprint also works closely together with the local test centre ETZ.
